NEW! Family Sunday School Class Sept 29th! Posted 9.19.2013
What if as a family you could learn Bible truth all together?  What if you could benefit from family discussions on spiritual topics.  (of course, by spiritual I'm talking relevant for everyday life!)  What if you as parents were given the opportunity to grow in your faith right in front of your children.  Would you not jump at the chance?

I am very excited to announce that we are starting a Family Sunday School class for children and their parents.  In this class we will be studying prayer using the "Lord teach us to pray" curriculum from Children Desiring God Ministries.

We will learn that "the purpose of prayer in not to change God, but to change the person praying. Through prayer, God reveals our sinful hearts, makes His will known, discloses His kingdom purposes, and reveals Himself to His children. True prayer is getting to know God better. When Jesus responded to the disciples' request to teach them to pray. He gave them the Lord's Prayer as a model. In it, Jesus shows us what should be in the believer's heart when he comes to his Heavenly Father in prayer. Lord, Teach Us To Pray is not about the correct formula for prayer-—it's about God's people learning to fellowship with Him in prayer."

Lord, Teach Us To Pray is an intergenerational study on prayer which means this isn't simply a children's class where parents come.  Rather its an opportunity for you as parents to participate in the learning and teaching process with your kids.  No you don't have to stand up in front of everyone!  We have teachers for that.  At the same time families will have opportunities to meet individually for family discussions each week.

What a great way to bring the Christian truth into your family.  As everyone learns the same things it makes spiritual conversations throughout the week easy!

Who? When? Where?...
This class is for families of 1-5th graders (whether parents come or not, but we highly urge parents to make the most of this opportunity!)
Lord Teach Us To Pray meets 1st hour (9-10am) in E-23.
It is a 13 week class and will end Christmas Sunday.
