Thanks for Giving Posted 11.27.2015

We have turned the corner toward Christmas.  I hope you had an amazing weekend of giving thanks to God for his blessings this week. Before we begin the decorating for Christmas in earnest (tomorrow), let me pause one more time to express some things for which I am especially thankful this weekend.

I could go on an on.  I pressed many into service for last Sunday night.  Many volunteered. Some got drafted as the last second.  But it all came together to bring God glory as we remembered His blessings.

So as you can see, there is much to stop and give thanks for to the Lord.  We now turn our sights toward the grand holiday of Christmas – and retell the story of the coming of the Savior.  It’s a scandalous story, actually.  It is one we cannot forget to tell because it brings us such hope and speaks of such grace.  Next Sunday the church will be decked out for Christmas – and we will launch a special sermon series just for this month.  And it provides us with our biggest reason to give thanks – we have a Savior, Who is Christ the Lord.
